Simba’s owner and his wife are the only ones who work with him as Simba helps his owner make a living so he can provide for his family.  Simba is always well fed, never overloaded and is always treated with love, kindness and care, like one of the family!  We have never received a complaint about him!

Simba, the day he fell ill with Colic.

So, when we received the call on 26 December that Simba was not feeling well, everyone was incredibly worried, as Simba rarely got sick.  Our Inspectors monitored him very closely, but when we saw no improvement, we trucked Simba to Blue Cross Veterinary Hospital in Newlands.  His owner was beside himself and could not sleep knowing Simba was ill.  Sasha, Simba’s best friend, was also not herself with Simba not being home.

Sasha and Simba go everywhere together, they are inseparable. Sasha is also the happiest dog we know on the Cape Flats and is on Simba’s cart before his harness is fully on!

Simba was suffering from Colic and we all prayed he would pull through.  With first class treatment, after three days, Simba was happy and healthy to be sent back home.

Simba happy to be back home with his human mom and family. Because he was unable to go out and work, CHPA gave Simba a few bales of oat-hay to keep him healthy and fit to go back to work.

Simba and Sasha have the most incredible bond and relationship of any dog and cart horse we have known on the Cape Flats.

Sasha darling, always by Simba’s side and on his cart every time he goes to work.
