No words or photo does this beautiful girl justice. She has to be seen to comprehend her beauty and grace. Alice is an athletically built Appaloosa type mare with a playful and kind nature.
Best friend to Fousie. She is quite protective of herself, keeping to herself. With patience, lots of love and gentleness, she will make a wonderful friend. She will have to be adopted with Fousie as they have been together for many years and have a bond that can’t be broken.
She is inquisitive, but still defensive and needs to build trust with humans. Her ears are often pinned back, but that is just a warning. She is good in a herd, if she has her friend with her. Her friends at the R&R are Black Beauty and Apple Jack. She is a very sweet pony.
Black Beauty arrived at the R&R very cautious, but with time, patience and a few carrots, she now comes over to greet and asks for her forehead to be rubbed. She needs a gentle person who will give her time to come out of her shell. She will also need a fellow gentle horse to take her under his/her wing.
Blondie is a very laid back. She keeps to herself and doesn’t care much to fall in with the crowd. You will find her resting peacefully with some of the other ponies who shares in the same beliefs lounging in the shade.
Sweet little Bobby was confiscated for neglect. He is still on the road to recovery, but will make a lovely child’s pony with his wonderful kind temperament.
An old, gentle and calm boy. The herd gelding with a calm and assertive nature. He would make a lovely therapy pony or live out his days with his best friend Silver, in a large, grassy paddock. They are to go together.
Copper Penny is absolutely green and will need a lot of handling from an experienced horse person. She has a lot of saddler blood and although flashy, can be cheeky.
Cyrus is gentle and kind with exceptional manners with both humans and other horses. He is inquisitive and always comes to greet. Locked stifle operation in both legs, so cannot ever be ridden - companion only.
Daisy is a darling of a pony and calmness just surrounds her. Her unique colouring always captures the eye and if you look just a bit closer she holds another beautiful surprise, a striking beautiful blue eye.
Fair Lady is very gentle and respectful. She would make a lovely riding horse for a child and/or teenager. She is very social with her herd and a friend to all of them. She loves to be chased and loves to play.
A mini with a strong but gentle presence. Being the only mini in her herd, despite her size, she is not afraid to stand up for herself and have her say. She is well respected by the herd. She must be adopted with her best friend, Amazing.
Fred is a total legend with huge potential to become a great all-rounder with the right guidance. He is definitely a pony who will offer you years of joy and happiness.
Ghost came to us as a skinny, overworked pony and has since blossomed into a beautiful, proud and loving boy. He is a mix breed pony type and his beautiful Dapple Steel Grey coat grabs the eye while his soft and loving way captures the heart.
Hennesey is going to take the Western Cape by storm. He is totally down for rustling your pockets for treats and he will be an amazing horse if brought on properly.
This little button mushroom came to us in a very sorry state indeed, all skin and bones and quite depressed. Ice is slowly coming out of his shell and showing us what a willing little fella he is.
He is generally sweet, but as he was only very recently gelded, he can still show some stallion mannerisms.
Jaffy is a very sweet middle-aged lad who just loves kisses and being faffed over in the stable. He is not keen on working hard and will need an experienced handler.
Jasmine is quite the joker. A mischievous and playful girl who was born at the CHPA center. She has the sweetest personality and will definitely grow into a fantastic children’s pony.
She has beautiful ground manners and loves being “faffed over”. Due to an earlier accident in her life, which broke her withers, cannot be ridden, but will make a lovely sweet-natured companion.
Little Lily is a real poppet, but she can be little on the shy side when you first meet her, but please don’t let this put you off.
Lucky loves to play and is respected by the rest of the herd. He would do well with a playful companion and/or herd.
Do you believe in love at first sight? Because look no further, you have just found your forever love on four legs. Mercy is not your typical chestnut mare, she simply loves meeting new people and is incredibly friendly.
Olivia is Sara‘s last foal. She is a real poppet who has never worked in the industry. A beautiful blank canvas ready for her first steps into the world of riding and adventure.
Scarlett is a very confident girl whose favourite pastime is playing in the paddock with her friends. You will note, she is very unique looking with her beautiful ice blue eye.
An old boy, who is sweet, calm and gentle. Always comes to say hello and loves a gentle touch and will be in silence with you. He keeps to himself, mostly, but loves a frolic and play at least once a day! He would make a wonderful therapy pony.
Sir Lancelot is a saddler who was signed over to CHPA. In his short life he has already been handed from pillar to post, but remains a sweet, loving boy.
