Violet was found on the road, pulling a whole bakkie on her cart.  The poor girl was straining to pull the load.  That is where Inspector Diana stepped in and immediately confiscated Violet and trucked her to our Recovery and Rehabilitation Centre in Gordon’s Bay.  Diana always says, you never know if you are saving one or two horses!  On the 8th of October 2023, Violet gave birth to a beautiful little girl, we named Grace.  When Grace was only 72 hours old, Violet died of a heart attack in her stable.  Little Grace was now an orphan.

So, Diana, Carmen and Jolize stepped in and Grace had three human moms’, looking after her 24/7.  There were a few scares, as with any baby, but today, Grace is a confident and precious little girl, loved by all.

Each milestone she took, drinking on her own, eating on her own, socializing on her own and eager to make friends, was an absolute joy to watch.  Grace is also well respected and well-liked by her paddock friends.  Rose’s daughter, Shilo who is now nine months old, has also become very protective over Grace and acting like her big sister.
