“I must say once I really got stuck into the material I couldn’t stop – thoroughly enjoyed it and I felt so encouraged to research certain topics even further.  I am convinced that this new knowledge will help me in my work here at the sanctuary – and in any other animal welfare scenario that I might find myself – I wish I had some of this knowledge much sooner.  I really hope more people will enrol and become involved in equine welfare, we can never be too many!”

– Juanita Lourens, Donkey Care & Welfare and Farm Manager – Eseltjiesrus Donkey Sanctuary, McGregor

“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to access this course. I think that it is brilliant in nearly all respects and if I was still involved with an animal welfare organisation I would insist that all Inspectors do the course. Congratulations to everyone who was involved in the compilation. I think it is really excellent.”

– Dr Lesley Lunn, Veterinarian

“I want to extend my greatest appreciation for the introduction to Equine Welfare and it has indeed assisted me in broadening my knowledge of equines, which I will continue to implement in the future when dealing with equines. I will definitely refer those who are also willing to learn more about horses and suggest that to take the Equine Welfare Training.”

– Mthunzi Kunene, Animal Welfare Assistant

“The course made such a difference for someone like me who jumped head 1st into animal welfare because “I want to save animals” and I have quite a bit experience.  Well you realise how little you have once you start running your own NPO and this course is set out so nicely that it doesn’t bombard your brain with unnecessary things but everything is really nicely laid out so that you can take it in at your own pace, go back, recap, even for an old gal like me, the course was easy to navigate. I learned a lot from the anatomy section, I think that is the section I was most lax in but of course the illnesses, laws and all other topics make this a must for anyone in animal welfare that work with equines.”

– Linda Visser, Kalahari Heart Animal Welfare

“As I have now completed my Course I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you. I have thoroughly enjoyed this course and learnt so much while doing it. I really found it very comprehensive and added so much to my knowledge base. I would highly recommend it to anyone who deals with equines or works with them. I will be proudly taking my Certificate with me to Ireland so that I can volunteer when I eventually get there.”

– Debbie Allcock
