Mr. Lonely brutally abused in a cart
On Monday, 6 February 2023, CHPA were alerted to a shocking video of Mr. Lonely being brutally beaten in a cart, for no reason! We immediately dispatched our Inspectors who intercepted Mr. Lonely and the driver on their way home to Freedom Farm. Mr. Lonely was immediately confiscated and taken to our Recovery and Rehabilitation Centre in Gordon’s Bay where he is recovering from his horrific ordeal.
When Mr. Lonely arrived at our Recovery and Rehabilitation Centre in Gordon’s Bay, he submissively backed up out of the horse box and followed Mr. Manual, his new groom, with no questions asked. No doubt he was probably still in shock and in pain from the beating and probably thinking he would be beaten again if he made a fuss.
Everyone that heard about Mr. Lonely agreed it was time to change his name. A precious young girl called Madison van der Berg was given the task. After some research she came up with his new name: Sir Luke The Brave.
Sir — because he needs more respect than he had as a “Mr.”.
Luke — meaning “Lucky Son” and a name familiar to all Star Wars lovers as the name of the ultimate underdog-to-hero character.
The Brave— seeing his sweet personality whilst unloading, in spite of how he had been treated.
Madison also suggested that his nickname could be LIL’ LUKEY, because he is so small.
Inspector Lindt Os has laid charges against the driver and the owner. This is the beginning of the road for seeking justice for Sir Luke. He has been permanently confiscated and doing really well at the R&R under the watchful eye of Mr. Manual who is completely besotted with Sir Luke. But watching the interaction between the two of them, the feeling is mutual.
Excellent team work helped with this amazing yet sad confiscation; with law enforcement, who notified us of the video and our inspectors who know where each cart horse lives and what routes they take.
Please help us keep our Inspectors on the road and help us help save horses from abuse like Sir Luke.
