In September, pregnant cart horse Queenie was involved in a motor vehicle accident, and sustained lacerations to her chest and two facial fractures. She was put on ‘sick leave’ and with regular veterinary care, she healed perfectly.
Queenie had us all fooled, in November last year she was huge and we all thought any day now! With the pregnant mares, the approximate date of delivery can vary by months as we never know when they are covered. Three months later she foaled down, bringing her beautiful colt into the world. Thankfully the trauma did not affect her pregnancy – today both mom and baby are thriving.
