Yesterday afternoon we hear this mad whistling coming from outside. No-one is here but Carl and Megan – all the horse people are out at the Boland clinic. Carl runs out to see whats going on and who should be standing at the gate?

Noortjie – all on his own.

Carl opened the gate and he calmly followed him to the paddock, where he got some lucerne and water. There were a few bite marks on his neck and one on his bum. It transpired that Noortjie had been tethered on a field, some kids had let him loose – he then had a fight with another stallion Mojo and then ran all the way from Kalksteen to the Epping clinic. Amazing.

Not the first time that cart horses have rocked up by themselves!
