Andre brought Patience in early this morning for a new set of shoes before going out to work. He collects scrap metal in Gugs, does not work every day. He rents Patience for R170 a day and works from 8 until 2. Yesterday he made R600.
After paying the rental he is left with R430. He then kept some of this money aside to buy in scrap today. A lot of people don’t give the scrap away anymore but instead sell it to the carties. Times are tough. Andre then also has to pay his guard out of the profits. Does not leave much to live on.
